What is traceability?
Is a systematic, objective and documented following of the coffee process that allows us to meet the quality standards of coffee in each export, guaranteeing the client all of the great qualities of the coffee bean stage by stage in the process.
What does the coffee traceability process consist of?
The coffee which leaves the farm of the producer is received in the different collection centers of the community and from there it is sent to the respective coffee plant.
What is the roasting process of the coffee?
The roasting process consists of an organic and sensory analysis of the coffee beans, with the purpose of finding out the negative and positive qualities of the coffee.
What determines the acidity of the coffee?
The acidity is a synonym of height. In areas where the coffee is cultivated at heights of 1200 to 1600 meters, the grain has a greater acidity level.
What varieties of coffee are there in the southern area of Costa Rica?
The coffee growers of the southern area of Costa Rica grow the following varieties: Catuai, caturra and veranero (this last one being a variety from Perez Zeledon).
What blends of coffee does javataza has for sale?
We work with seven different blends of coffee, each one of them with high levels of quality. We work in association with Coopeagri R.L., a well established cooperative in Southern Costa Rica.
Is altittude the main factor that determines coffee quality?
Altitude, soil condition, climate, and husbandry are the main determining factors in coffee quality.
