Why did we name our Specialty Coffee Company "Javataza?" Well, there is coffee, and then there is java. Since 1850, java has been the nickname for the real thing, as opposed to the substitutes that sometimes go by the name of coffee. The Spanish word "taza" means "Cup" or "Mug" in English. So what we are saying is that we offer "A Cup or Mug of Premium, Specialty Coffee" all wrapped up in one word "Javataza!"

Javataza maintains an ongoing relationship with these growers. Javataza visits the farms on a regular basis to share and to learn the best way to produce a quality coffee and to insure a better quality of life for the grower.
